Insanely huge TWRP size

I have about the same apps on this G4 as i had on my Galaxy s4. The TWRP backup of that device (on GPE ROM) was usually about 4GB. I did a backup of Genisys ROM and it was over 11GB!

Is this typical for this device and/or ROM?
