You know, for a multi-billion dollar company you would think Samsung could figure out something as simple and necessary as autocorrect after all these year. Going all the back to the Note 2, it didn't even have auto correct out of the box and there was no way to enable it. When you made an error, the phone would suggest the proper word, but you would have to click on it before you hit space, otherwise the word would remain misspelled and you would have to go back later to fix it.
The Note 3 and 4 seemed to be acceptable, albeit laggy as usual. Now the Note 5 is out and is the best device Samsung has ever made, and it has totally broken autocorrect once again. I mean I will simply be typing along and it will change the word "a" (LITERALLY A SINGLE LETTER WORD) to albertdavidson@gmail.com, or even worse it will change it to something absolutely insane such as aborigine, a word that I have never, and would never use. I've seen it do worse and it happens constantly.
I figured it was just the phone lagging because of Touchwiz and bloatware, so I disabled all bloatware (a ton) and it seemed to get better. However it came back shortly after. I switched out to swiftkey and my problems were solved, but the swiftkey keyboard is ugly and the number row is too big. I shouldn't have to use a 3rd party keyboard to solve this problem anyway, so again I went back to trying to fix it. I rooted, installed a custom rom, a custom kernel, and even converted to f2fs. This is the most efficient I could possibly make this phone. And guess what? Still not fixed.
I then switched over to the leaked marshmallow build on the T-Mobile forums hoping that maybe the new version of Android and Touchwiz will fix it. Well it did something, but I wouldn't call it a fix. On the marshmallow build, the autocorrect seems to work perfectly.... if you type slow... As soon as you start typing fast, it just totally gives up even trying to correct the word in time. You end up with a paragraph full of misspellings that you have to go back and correct, one at a time.....
This has gotten me so frustrated that I literally ordered a Nexus 6p LOL And I don't even want that phone! Nor could I afford it just days before Christmas, but I am so furious about my daily headache of this crap that I am in need of some sort of solution.
Have all of you guys swithced to 3rd party keyboards, are you just dealing with this, or is there a fix out there that I am not aware of?
